Looking for a fun way to spend a day? Take a ranger-guided tour at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in Florissant. A variety of programs will be offered throughout the summer which includes ranger talks, guided walks, science demonstrations at an excavation site, a fossil discovery lab and much more. Call ahead for times and schedules. The junior ranger program, park film and exhibits, two self-guided trails, and 14 miles of hiking trails are available to visitors throughout the year. The fee to enter the park is $3 per person for anyone 16 years or older (15 years or younger are free). Park hours are 8 a.m.-6 p.m. in summer and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. otherwise.
