Kids love pets. And more, thy can learn from them and grow as people by having the responsibility of something that depends on them.  But not every family needs, or can care for, a dog. They’re pretty high maintenance. Cats are less so, but also requrie litter boxes, rips to vets., etc. There are some pets that ae low maintenance, however.
