Sign Up Now for City’s Annual Bike to Work Day Events

POSTED BY

Participants can now sign up for Bike to Work Day on Wednesday, June 22. Riders can partake in a free breakfast at any of nearly 40 breakfast stations on the trail system and at local businesses throughout Colorado Springs from 6 to 9 a.m.

Breakfast stations are first-come, first-served. Although there is no need to register to visit specific breakfast stations, participants are encouraged to register to ride. Riders can plan their commute to free breakfast stops on an interactive map.

Riders can download the Ride Spot app and join the Bike Colorado Springs’ “COS Bike to Work Day Challenge” for a chance to win a Trek bicycle from Scheels.

Bicycle supportive employers can join the fun as a Corporate Champion, which offers an excellent opportunity to promote wellness and a fun activity for employees to take part. Colorado Springs businesses and organizations are encouraged to sign up their company to learn how to champion the cause.

To celebrate the ride home on Bike to Work Day participants are invited to the Music at the Indy free concert and Farmers Market Series, 6-8 p.m. at 235 South Nevada Ave, in downtown Colorado Springs. Riders can enjoy musical performances by local artists Joe Johnson and Grant Sabin, past winners of the Indy’s Best of the Springs for music. Food trucks, arts and crafts vendors will be on hand, along with free beer, wine and whiskey tastings.

Bike to Work Day is organized by the City of Colorado Springs and sponsored in part by breakfast station sponsors, KOAA-News 5, The Colorado Springs Independent and 98.9 Magic Lodge Bicycle Resort, Catalyst Campus, Colorado Springs Downtown Partnership, El Paso County Public Health, Solid Rock CDC, SRAM, Trails and Open Space Coalition and University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
