Ride-sharing Saves Money, Stress

POSTED BY
Linda

A new interactive tool helps travelers find someone to share a ride with to an event, for a one-time trip, or for the daily commute. RidePro matches persons interested in sharing the ride with many kinds of transportation possibilities, including carpools, vanpools, bike partners, park and rides, and public transit.  The tool is free and easy to use with a highly interactive interface using Google Maps.

The carpool match search takes into account your schedule, geographical boundaries, and even gender preference. The vanpool search locates vanpools with routes on an interactive map and gives directions from your home to a vanpool pickup point and from the drop-off to your destination. Bike partner searches can match you with other registrants with similar commutes or trip patterns that are interested in cycling to work. City bus alternatives are also available including walking distance to your bus stop and to your destination. For more information email metrorides@springsgov.com or call 719-385-RIDE (7433).
