The City of Colorado Springs’ Parking System Enterprise has opened the new downtown electric vehicle charging station in the lower level of the City Administration Building Parking Garage located at 130 South Nevada Ave. The new electric vehicle charging station serves two parking spots conveniently located by the lower level East entrance of the CAB Parking Garage, which is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The charging station, marked by bright green paint, is FREE for parking customers to use (regular garage fees do apply). The goal of the charging station is to increase access to green technology and support deviation from fossil fuels. The electric vehicle charging station was made possible in collaboration with the Southern Colorado Clean Cities Coalition. It is paid for by an Electric Supply Equipment Incentive grant from the Colorado Energy Office and Parking Enterprise funds. No tax dollars were used.
