Local schools, educators and groups are invited to utilize an education resource guide designed to engage youth in the commemoration of the City of Colorado Springs’ sesquicentennial.
There are many ways for students of all ages to get involved, including:
- Practice analysis skills and consider how our community has changed over time by comparing local historic photos to similar images from today
- Plan a field trip to a local historic site, check out an artifact kit, use digital history tools
- Challenge students to analyze the design of the Colorado Springs flag and make their own unique version
You will find a PDF of the entire education resource guide attached, or you can access specific sections of the materials at ColoradoSprings.gov/COS150. This guide is part of several activities planned to celebrate the city’s sesquicentennial throughout 2021.Please visit the city’s website for a full schedule of events.
