Where Can You Get Free WiFi in The Springs? You Might Be Surprised!

May 17, 2010

Looking for a FREE WiFi connection in town? It’s available at dozens of places — some you might not expect. There are coffee shops, such as Boulder Street Coffee Roasters and Dogtooth Coffee – to be sure. And a bunch of restaurants offer it: Try El Tesoro, Old Chicago and the Ritz Grill, for example. But who’d expect it at Colorado City Creamery (with a side of ice cream) or the North End Diner (with a side of fries)? You might expect it — and be right — if you thought it was available at the local libraries and the Colorado Springs Convention & Visitors Bureau. There’s a Web site devoted entirely to listing these places and it has many more! Go ONLINE to check it out.

North End Diner Celebrates YOUR Birthday

May 12, 2010

The North End Diner wants to treat you to FREE meal on your birthday. The old-fashioned eatery, which hasa been in business since 1958, isn’t expensive anyway. Located at Fillmore and Hancock, they specialize in diner food and serve burgers made from all-natural Ranch Direct beef. All you need to do is show up on your birthday with proof of your birth date (a driver’s license will do). Worth up to $7 in value. Like we said, not expensive!

Go online to see their menu, and don’t miss what they believe is the world’s largest collection of salt and pepper shakers, on display at the restaurant.

Check out Free Movies at the Library

June 29, 0201

OK, you’ve seen “Sound of Music” 50 times … but you want to see it again. Or maybe something more current, like “The Blind Side.” You can borrow older movies for a week, newer ones for three days, from libraries and branches of the Pikes Peak Library District.  They’re FREE with your library card. Cheaper than renting from a video store and definitely cheaper than going to the movies these days!
